I have been with Petplan for 2 years now. I have a German Shepherd and Petplan always deals with my claims quickly. Their customer service call centre is based in the UK and their staff are always friendly and helpfull. They do not limit you claim to 12 months on their cover for life plan and they do not stop paying once your maximum benefit has been reached. At renewal, they refresh the benefits on you policy. I have had other Pet insurance and they are not as good as Petplan
I paid into Petplan Pet Insurance for a few years with no claim, however my beloved cat fell ill, and there was a mistake over the diagnosis. He ended up , after several weeks of treatment, at the Royal Veternary College where unfortunately he had to be put down. I was decimated by his death as he meant the world to me, however the Royal Veternary College, my local vet and Petplan were very sympathetic. The Royal Veternary College took ages to send me a bill, and in the end I had to insist it was sent. I then sent it to Petplan who paid up immediately with no quibble despite the fact that by now the bill had risen to over £2000. They even sent me a letter to say that they were sorry my cat had died. I was very satisfied with the service, and even if it is a bit expensive compared to others the peace of mind it gives is well worth the extra. I currently have three cats and pay something like £22 a month which I consider reasonable considering the size of vets fees these days.
